Here is a digital version of the 2022-2023 NHS Application. Applications are due to the NHS Adviser, Mrs. Von Glan, by March 31, 2023. These can be submitted either on paper or in a digital format. To obtain a hard copy of the application, or any other questions, please contact NHS adviser Mrs. Von Glan (nvonglan@isd110.org). Thank you again for your interest in our organization!
National Honor Society (NHS) is an honorary organization that recognizes student academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and community service.
Membership in this organization is an immediate flag for potential employers, colleges, and scholarship committees that the faculty of your high school recognized you as an outstanding member of the school community. It is a prestigious award and highly recognized.
Applying to NHS is open to sophomores and juniors who possess the following qualities: a cumulative grade point average of 3.55 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher; show evidence of satisfactory participation in multiple athletic and academic activities at Waconia High School; perform a minimum of 40 and up to 80 additional hours of community service; and one’s character must be held in high esteem.
Applications for membership to the Waconia High School National Honor Society Chapter are due to the NHS Adviser Nelia Von Glan (nvonglan@isd110.org) on or before March 31, 2023. Applications will then be reviewed and voted on by the NHS Selection Committee and students will be notified in writing of their acceptance status. An induction ceremony will be held in the spring to recognize all new and returning NHS members.
