Kindergarten/1st Grade Lunch and Learn (register here)
An offering for parents of kindergarten and 1st grade children. The Elementary Schools of District 110 invite you to have lunch with your child and learn with us!
We are hosting three separate parent connection events, each covering different topics. Parents of kindergartners and 1st graders will visit their elementary school and have a 20 minute lunch with their child. When the students go to recess, the parents go to school… meaning parents will meet with our District 110 Parent Liaison to learn about ways to support their Kindergarten and 1st grade learner as they make their way through school milestone.
Registration is FREE through Early Childhood Family Education/School Age Offerings. Sibling care provided $5.00/child.
Registration Required. School lunch is an extra cost for adults who choose this option. Lunch costs will be added to the students lunch account.
Next Steps - Elementary Age Parent Education (register here)
Raising school-age children can be awesome. Watching them try new activities, cheering them on at athletic events and applauding their accomplishments at recitals are usually some of the high points for most parents. However, achieving success is often preceded by frustration and sometimes learning to accept one’s weaknesses as well as celebrating and building on strengths along the path of parenting.
This course offers an opportunity for parents of elementary age children who would like to enhance their parenting skills while participating in group discussions and learning parenting strategies through the guidance of a parent educator.
Parent Discussions will last for 1.5 hours. Discussions will center around topics such as Friendship & Belonging, Bullying, Independence, Organization & Responsibility. Childcare is available for younger siblings who are not in school, so that parents can focus on learning without distraction.
