Eligibility:
Candidates interested in becoming a substitute teacher for Waconia Public Schools must hold a Minnesota teaching license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education or a short-call substitute license.

The substitute teacher pay rate is $125 for a full day and $62.50 for a half day.

Short-Call Licensure:
If you do not have a Minnesota teaching license or a short-call license, then you must complete and pass the STEDI SubSkills Online Training Course and provide a copy of your SubDiploma to the HR Department before your application will be processed.

Candidates who do not currently hold a Minnesota limited short-call license or standard teaching license, but have completed the STEDI SubSkills training course, will have to apply for a short-call license with the Minnesota Department of Education. This will need to be completed prior to attending the new-substitute orientation.

Once you complete the short-call license application, you must print the District Verification Form and bring this form with you to the orientation. District 110 will sign the application during new-substitute orientation. If you need assistance while applying for the short-call license, please contact the Minnesota Department of Education directly at (651) 582-8691.
