The Communications Department at Waconia Public Schools is committed to keeping residents informed about how our students are exploring their passions and creating their success each and every day. There are a number of ways for our residents, parents, volunteers, students and staff to stay engaged. We concentrate on sharing stories in hopes of providing some insights into all of the great learning and growth happening in our schools.
Wildcat Media Productions is team of students who play an important role in helping the district share stories. Such as, interviewing Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph when he came to Waconia Middle School during the Pennies for Patients campaign. They also work with Superintendent Pat Devine on his monthly video blog. Students operate just like a mini television newsroom by identifying stories, researching, developing and then getting them produced. See their work, including all of Superintendent Devine's video blogs, by clicking the link.
There are so many great stories to share, such as, Alexis Stotko getting her poem published. Read her story and all of the other stories about the impressive things our students are doing.
To keep parents informed, we send out a monthly e-newsletter. Click the link to see the latest issue. If you would like to sign up for our newsletters, go to the bottom of the newsletter and click 'update your preferences'.
The CommuniCAT is our printed newsletter from the district office that is sent to every household in our school district. If you are interested in reading previous issues just click on the files below.
All of our social media channels are listed at the bottom of this page under 'Connect'. Consider following us as it would be great to have you in our social media community.
#WEareONE10 is so much more than a hashtag. We are all in this together. Parents, students, staff and community members all support each towards the common goal of creating opportunities to explore their passions and create their success.
