ISD 110 Face Covering Expectations

One of the pillars at ISD 0NE10 is to put best practices and procedures in place to create a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.  During the Covid pandemic, there are multiple new protocols that we will need to follow to ensure that our students and staff members remain as safe as possible. The Center for Disease Control and the Minnesota Department of Health have made it very clear that there are three basic practices in our control that will reduce the chances of getting COVID-19:

  1. Wear a mask
  2. Practice social distancing
  3. Wash your hands

At ISD ONE10, we will be following those recommendations as well as state laws. We are currently mandated by law in Minnesota to require that all in our facilities to wear a mask.

ISD ONE10 requires all K-12 students and staff to wear a mask on school grounds. Students with severe medical and special needs may be exempt from this and school staff will work with the families of students who fall into this category. There will be times for temporarily removing masks for eating or drinking or, while playing a mouth-based musical instrument. Students refusing to wear masks will face progressive disciplinary measures and, those not conforming, may be moved to the ONE10 Distance Learning model of instruction.

The health and safety of students and staff is very important and we will enforce safety protocols to ensure that we are doing our job of keeping everyone safe.

Information on the proper way to wear a mask and which masks are acceptable and which ones are not acceptable will be shared with parents and students before the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

One cloth mask per student and staff member will be provided by the state. We are suggesting that parents treat student masks as a school supply this year.

We appreciate your partnership and cooperation to make this school year as safe and positive as possible for everyone.

WE Are ONE10!
